Solidarity Collective is an intentional community dedicated to cooperative economics, anti-oppression work, and communal culture. We are creating a safe haven for activists, creators, our families, and our dreams of a more cooperative world.
And now, after two years of searching, we've acquired the land and property to do it, right on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming. We need your help to complete our moving process.
Our three acres of land, with a huge mansion built in 1878, additional apartments, and several other structures, will allow us to live, work, farm, and provide a safe haven for activists and creators joining us in the building the world, economy, and culture we know needs to be built.
Our initial campaign goal was $1,000 to pay for moving expenses and the first round of cleanup and repairs on the property. Within a day, we were just a few dollars short of making our goal, so we have switched to a stretch goal of $2,500.
Here's the breakdown of where your contributions will go:
~ $750 to moving expenses
~ $750 to initial and urgent repairs on the property
~ $1,000 to sustainable systems seed funds, such as a water catchment system and a greenhouse
This community isn't just for us. It's for everyone in the region who wants to push back against the current hyper-capitalist politics of violence and exploitation and create a new world.
Solidarity Collective will be the first intentional community in Wyoming in a very long time. It will be a safe working and living space for cooperative culture, progressive and anti-capitalist politics, offering studio space for our national and local media production, musical and artistic work, and public meeting space for like-minded activists all over the region. Help us create revolutionary space for all who need it!
We are doing a fast turnaround campaign of just ten days. This has all happened quickly and three of our members' current leases run out at the end of July, so it is moving time right now.
