Hello everyone, the Bible says "You have not because you ask not." My name is Tony Brown, a Broadcast Journalist with the radio program Eyes Open with Tony Brown. We have been so blessed to expose a number of high profile news stories from around Louisiana for 17 years. We were first to tell the stories of miscarriages of justice, like the Jena Six, Baron Scooter Pikes, who was tasered 9 times in 14 minute period, most recently the Victor White III, which is now the focus of the Investigation Discovery Documentary "Sugar Town".
We are probably the only radio show in the state that talks about daily, important issues like the alarming number of unarmed black men and children being killed by police in Louisiana, To date we have exposed 24 of these atrocities since 2002 way before many of the high profile cases like Trayvon Martin, Sean Bell or Michael Brown. I have helped raise money for Domestic Violence victims, Katrina evacuees and many other important causes in our community.
Because of the nature of my show we do not get a lot of financial support locally from the business or our community, I realize racism, slavery residue, excessive force, and police brutality are not popular to talk about but its necessary to have these conversations to solve the problems and begin the healing process. Although I am a Crohn's Disease survivor and currently battling diabetes that has not kept me from this mission and ministry to give all people regardless of race, color, or creed, a voice in their community. Since 2002 when I first broadcast this show I have never been able to draw a salary but focused the resources we get to keep this show on the air. Now I come asking friends, family, and supporters to help me keep this call-in talk show on the air.
It takes about 4 to 5 thousand dollars monthly to broadcast my show "Eyes Open with Tony Brown", not to mention the additional cost of running our station KTTP 1110 AM. I am prayerful that any amount you can give us in support will be greatly appreciated and will allow us to continue this ministry. My shows motto is 'COME CLEAN OR STAY AWAY NASTY!" That means when you call us to speak the truth or don't speak at all.
The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 10:19 "A feast is made for laughter, wine makes merry but money answers all things" Amen I have never asked for financial support for myself ever, but have always answered the Macedonian cry to help others, any amount you can donate to us is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for your support. The powers at be have been trying to get us off the air for 17 years. Please help support this eye-opening show and our continued mission to give all people a voice in their community while exposing unrighteousness.
