Help Kris Get His Chompers & Lose His Feeding Tube

Donation protected
My name is Kristopher Green and I am 29 years old. I was born with multiple birth defects; Esophageal atresia (EA) and Tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF). The day after I was born I had a surgery to correct these. Within a few weeks I required another surgery to adjust previous repair and a surgical tool punctured through my esophagus and collapsed my right lung. Although they were able to eventually repair both the birth defects and the damage caused by the tool. I never became fully capable of eating like everyone else and my right lung has always been weak. In total I have persevered through some 90 surgeries. I have always been able handle what life has thrown at me, but recently I found I will need $10,000 for Dental Implants to be capable of eating again and to get this nasal feeding tube removed. My outlook after knowing how much it would cost for implants has been bleak. However I am hoping I can find help through this GoFundMe and have a future of eating without a nasal feeding tube ahead of me!

                                                                                                                      **Health Complication Timeline**

@ 3 years old I had a Gastrostomy Feeding Tube Placed.

- Usually had to have my Esophagus Stretched once or twice a year to make eating easier so I could eat without it getting stuck on the way down.

- Due to Acid Reflux and Gastric Problems, Dental issues include a lack of proper enamel coverage leading to a burst of cavities.

@ 17 years old I had to have my esophagus removed and my stomach pulled up into my chest due to the yearly stretching causing it to become thin.

- Due to Acid Reflux and Gastric Problems, Dental issues become more severe requiring a few teeth to be pulled and a couple to have root canals done.

@ 23 I had a Jejunostomy Feeding Tube placed because my weight was too low and I couldn't raise it with how little I was able to eat.

- Due to Acid Reflux and Gastric Problems, Dental issues have reached a point of multiple teeth actually breaking off instead of falling out. Beginning of modifying chewing because of loss of tooth contact.

@ 24 The Feeding Tube caused a portion of my intestine to become kinked and that portion of my intestine and the feeding tube both had to be removed.

@27 My weight had begun to drop down quickly, it was discovered I had a Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth and had become malnourished causing me to rock bottom at 85 pounds. A Nasal Feeding Tube was placed, as a guaranteed way to get my weight back up.

@28 Due to the Acid Reflux and Gastric problems I have had my entire life, and all the Dental problems I had with my teeth up to this point, finally reaches a severity that made them virtually ineffective and had begun to cause constant oral infections including an infection in my jawbone. Due to the severity of infections and ineffectiveness of my teeth, they are all surgically removed at the same time.

@28 After having a nasal feeding tube for almost a year now, I am finally a healthy 130 pounds. However the tube cannot be removed until I am able to eat what I need to keep my weight healthy. Which I can't do without any teeth, and awaiting dentures.

@29 Dentures are molded and after months of waiting I receive them. They don't fit well enough and require lots of adhesive for both the bottoms and top. When testing out chewing they move way too much.  This movement causes me to not be able to chew things very well. Making an already difficult act of eating, impossible. Not to mention scary. Scary because if I don't chew well enough and choke on what I am eating the Heimlich maneuver won't work on me, due to my stomach being up in my chest behind my rib cage.

@Present - So because of the denture issues, I did the leg work to find out what was needed to get dental implants so I can have a true opportunity to begin chewing and eating by mouth again. Eventually being able to thrive on what I eat and not what goes through a tube, and get this nasal feeding tube removed (Because honestly its annoying being hooked up to this thing, imagine a "Nasal version" Ball and Chain).

This GoFundMe is to help me raise the $10,000 required for upper jaw implants and a bar mounted denture. Please Donate or Share this to help me get my chompers, lose this Nasal Feeding Tube and finally be able to eat again!

Sincerely Thanks,

Kristopher Green
