Help Kobya Heal after tragic Hit and Run

Donation protected
During the evening of Monday 15 April, Kobya well known and loved North Coast Australia African Musician was walking along Cecil Street, Nimbin with his dear friend Kooka, when they were both struck by a speeding car which kept driving and did not call for any assistance.  The tragedy sadly took Kooka from the community of Nimbin.

Kobya has suffered serious injuries including a busted leg, dislocated shoulder, many bumps and wounds on his head and upper right side of his body. Kobya will need time to heal and has had to pull out of his music gigs which are his main source of income. We are asking for any help or assitance if you can spare it to help Kobya get back on his feet. Any assistance is greatly appreciated and will help Kobya to heal and get back to playing music, spreading his infectious positive vibe and spending time with family and friends.

Kobya has been living in his van/mobile home and staying with friends as he traveled for many years, but now needs somewhere stable and warm to stay across Winter to help him heal.  Kobya will be wheelchair bound due to the damage he sustained in his leg, there will be further surgery needed to help stabilize his leg which will see him off his feet for awhile.

He has been in hospital for the past month due to the level of injury and will is hoping to be out soon but the exact date is unknown right now. We had been hoping that Kobya would be out of hospital and on his way to recovery and back to playing music by now however we have recently learnt that more time is needed for recovery and healing.

Money donated is going towards suitable accommodation for Kobya whilst he is in a wheelchair, medical support costs,  assistance attending hospital outpatient appointments and help with homecare.
