Help Kerry Live Longer!
Kerry was training for her second Half Ironman in Busselton, Western Australia, in 2018 when she, at the age of 45, was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer.
She started intensive treatment right away, tackling every day with a positive attitude, never complaining, never giving up and determined not to let Cancer win.
After 5 months of intensive chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery, Kerry thought she could finally move on, start working again and travel.
Unfortunately this was not meant to be, just two short months later in August, Kerry received the most gut-wrenching news... the cancer was back and it has metastasised to her lungs and liver.
A little more about Kerry;
Kerry, her husband Chris and two boys moved to Perth, Australia (from the UK) 12 years ago, ready for a new life in sunny Australia.
Unfortunately tragedy struck only two years after arrival - Chris was killed in a tragic accident leaving Kerry alone in a new country with two young boys. Being the strong woman she is she made a life for her and her boys, not letting life get her down.
She is now re-married to her amazing husband George and her two boys (18 and 21) have grown into beautiful, caring young men who adore their mother. Having lost their father Chris, they now have to see their beautiful mum battle an even harder fight.
How can we help;
Her Oncologist at Sir Charles Gardner Hospital has told Kerry that all they can do is try and buy her time.
Kerry qualifies for a new recognised treatment called immunotherapy that can hopefully give her more time to spend with her family and friends.
Unfortunately this is not covered by PBS and is extremely costly ($7500 for every 3 weeks of treatment).
This is her best chance of fighting this horrible disease (without treatment she is looking at a two month time frame) and we need your help!
As you would know sickness causes so much financial stress not only within the family home but also with all the medical bills.
Please help us help Kerry have another Christmas with her family, walk on the beach, enjoy more sunsets, share laughter with her husband and make many more memories with her boys.
Being an amazing mum and the most organised person I know, she has been keeping busy ticking off lists and organising her affairs so her family doesn't have to do it, making it easier for the boys and George.
