My daughter, Kaysi, has been dancing since she was 4 years old. She loves to dance and always has. In grade 8 we moved her from the studio in our small town to a studio in the city where she would be able to participate in competitions. She absolutely thrived at the new studio and has been there ever since.
Recently my husband lost his job. He is looking for something new, but is having a very difficult time finding a new position. We can barely make ends meet. I am on disability and am not supposed to be working, I get a small disability payment every month, but it doesn’t cover much.
My daughter is going into grade 11 in September and she turns 16 on August 29th. She has learned so much from dance and is so dedicated and committed. She just loves it with all of her heart, it is practically all she does during the school year. However, we can not afford to pay for her to dance this year. We have to pay a monthly fee, as well as competition fees, costume fees and extra group fees. She is a good kid who stays out of trouble, she volunteers for Students Union and Students Against Drunk Driving. She spends almost all of her free time dancing. Without it, I don’t know what she will do. She will be absolutely devastated.
Please help me raise money for my baby girl to be able to dance. I don’t know what I will do if I have to tell her that she can’t dance this year. It would destroy her. I have until October 15 before I have to pull her out of classes.
