Karen Jackson is known for her Kind spirit and her ability to touch others with her prayer leadership and servants heart. Karen is married to her husband Booker and they will soon celebrate 23 years of marriage. Karen is the 45 year old mother of 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Karen has been helping others in the medical field for the past 28 years and has been with Somerby Assisted living in Miramar Beach Florida since it opened in 2015 as the Lead CNA and has recently promoted to Memory Care Manager. In December 2018, Karen found a "lump" in her left breast and soon after found her axillary lymph nodes enlarged as well. In January 2019, Karen was indeed diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Karen believes that God has placed this pebble in her pathway so that she will become a testimony of faith and healing as well as to help others walk their own difficult journey. Karen is currently being treated at UAB and will begin Chemotherapy and a trial regimen February 22, 2019. Karen will have a bilateral masectomy during this journey and possibly radiation . The traveling expenses and time away from work for treatments and surgery will take a toll on her and her family. Please PRAY for Karen and her husband Booker as they walk this journey.
