On February 21, 2018, my grandmother Judy Chidester's trailer and property that her parents built was demolished by a flood like no other. The beautiful Rifle River that my family knows and loves, turned against us and ruined my grandmother's trailer and property she has in Standish, Michigan. Four generations of my family have grown up in the trailer.
We discovered that everything in my grandmother's trailer was completely destroyed. Not only was the river water in the house, but the septic fields overflowed, and covered everything in human waste. Making everything beyond saving. One of her porches that helped us enter the house, is now floating down the river somewhere. There are several places where the foundation is unstable due to being taken out of the enormous ice chunks.
This incident has left my grandmother devasted. The woman who helps everyone now needs help herself. Please donate whatever you can, and please spread the word. She needs all the help and support she can get right now.
