Help John Jordan with cancer costs

As many of you know my Dad John Jordan has lived on Linnaea farm for over 20 years, he is deeply committed member of the Cortes Island and Linnaea farm communities. He has been instrumental in building infrastructure for the Whaletown Community Association and Cortes Island Radio not to mention ruffling a few feathers at the occasional regional board meeting and running sound for uncountable community events. Most Cortes Islanders have crossed paths with him in hilarious, heartfelt or challenging ways as is the way with most of us here on the Island.

Early December 2017 my Dad was doing his regular farm chores when he turned his back on an unruly bull. The bull decided to gore him with his horns and lifted him off the ground. That Christmas he was very sore and told us all that he was going to go for some doctors appointments after the holidays because his injuries weren't improving. We all got quite the shock when he went in for an ultrasound and they found a 9' by 11' tumour in his kidney. He was scheduled for the kidney to be removed and was in surgery two weeks later. Since then it has been a long journey of discovering that it had spread a bit and doing a few other surgeries to remove the small tumours that had formed on his other kidney and in his lung.

There are tiny lung tumours left that are inoperable so they switched gears and got him onto an immune boosting therapy which is cutting edge and he is very happy about. Although that has come with costs to his health as well and a few very serious hospital stays. One of which was earlier this month when they discovered a small brain tumour, which is going to be a whole new journey of treatments and many more trips down Island to Victoria to see surgeons and oncologists.

Dad has been unable to work since last summer, all of this has taken a lot out of him and his usual methods of income are not feasible anymore. We are looking for some help to assist with his living costs, to help with the trips to Victoria and so we can look into some interesting alternative treatments. Through all of this he has had a great attitude he has always been good at seeing silver linings and revelling in the good of life. I am so blessed to be able to come home and spend this time with him. Watching him and my daughter is one of the best things I have ever seen, they absolutely adore each other!

Any bit helps and would mean the world to us. These crowdfunding things can be so fantastic as even the littlest bit can add up when it comes from lots of people...Thank you friends :)
