Without a doubt, I must first give thanks to God for all that He’s done and all that He’s allowed me to experience over the last several months in my time in Uganda. I also would like to thank anyone who may have generously offered financial gifts, housing, time, or prayers throughout my travels. You all have my sincerest of thank yous, and may God bless each of you for your acts of love, kindness, and support.
But if you're just learning who I am or just beginning to take this trek with me, allow me to bring you up to speed:
In November 2017, I decided to embark on a journey with God that dropped me off overseas in Kampala, Uganda. I went there to be a part of a 9-month leadership program at Freedom Church called Academy. This is a program designed to challenge and release the potential of young leaders in the church, through the vehicles of teaching, mentorship, and access to various volunteer opportunities. It truly allows one the time and space to grow deeper in both their relationship with Jesus and in their understanding of their identity and purpose in Him.
Since my time there God has moved and has spoken in many ways around my calling and his purpose for my life. For so long I tried relying on my own plans, trying to map them to my own selfish desires and motives based on a need to feel approval from others. But in these last several months God has used the words of new friends, of songs, and of prophecies to reveal his plans for my life—unveiling the call for me to speak and to teach, using my voice to influence the lives of others.
In response to this I was recently approached with an opportunity to teach in Academy, serving as a class instructor and groups tutor in the program. This would require me to return to Kampala for its 9-month duration, which begins in October 2018. I’m currently in need of full financial support which will be needed for a renewed visa, flights, and living expenses (rent, food, transport, etc.).
Would you please consider partnering with me in this next step of faith through prayer or financial giving? And as always, thank you for allowing me to share my story with you. I hope my desire to follow Jesus can and will continue to encourage you to step into greater places of faith with Him as well.
