Many of you are aware my brother Jeff Castlio has been dealing with some health issues for the past few months. He was diagnosis with an ulcer and prescribed Prilosec. Nobody anticipated what was really wrong.
On Monday, July 24th, Jeff was taken to the emergency room. He was in a great deal of pain and incredibly weak due to shortness of breath.
After several tests, x-rays and a CT scan, the doctors finally had suspicions that it was much more serious. Jeff was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
Over the next several days, it has become apparent Jeff has many, many friends that love him and want to support him. The hospital has had to direct the flow of visitor traffic because the lobby was full of people that wanted to come by and say hello.
When the Oncologist was finally able to confirm Jeff’s diagnosis with friends and family at his side, the prognosis wasn't terrific. It was originally thought that chemo night help him survive for some time; however, it was later discovered he also had Myeloma in his kidneys. To treat both would require constant dialysis in addition to the chemo and diminish any quality of life.
Jeff is loathsome to ask for help, but he is going to need a lot of assistance. With your love and support we can help Jeff through his final days.
And even if you don't donate, I hope just reading this prompts you to spend more time with the people you hold dear in life, because it is but a fleeting moment and you should grab it with both hands!
