Hey everyone!
This summer I will be interning for two amazing NGO to plan and jumpstart a health infrastructure project in rural Tanzania, precisely the Mbeya region. Students for International Development, based in Canada, with the help of the grassroots The Olive Branch For Children have been carrying out develpment projects for quite a while now, and I consider myself lucky to be joining them.
However, I need your support to help me making the best out of this project and bring HIV/AIDS testing, treatments, and knowledge in rural villages that otherwise would not have any of these!

Why donate?
Any dollar that you donate will make up my project budget that I will use to employ local specialists, workers, and experts to cooperate with me in the planning and designing of the infrastructure. The money will also be spend towards the purchase of construction material and necessary medical forniture and equipment.
Most importantly, you can be certain that I will be personally manage the donations. I will keep a record of every cent spent so that if you ever were to be interested in the proceedings of the project, I will be able to fill you in and involve you in my day-to-day tasks-of course, any word of wisdom and advice is always welcomed.
On a side note, do not ever refrain from asking for photographic documentation of all the upcoming Tanzanian adventures!

Why me, why Africa?
I was born and raised in Italy, where the stories of Africans landing on our shores escaping poverty, conflicts, and diseases are truly heart-breaking. I found my way to the studying of international development theories, policies, and practices. I earned my bachelor degree a year ago and went off to D.C. to pursue a MA in International Affairs with concentration International Development and Conflict Resolution, determined to contribute with love, understanding, positivity. The problems are many but it is in our power to find the answers. African countries are on the right track and I am truly blessed to be working at the service of African people towards sustainable development.

I've always known that Africa is much more than these dire images of poverty and violence and illness, let me show you the bright side of Tanzania.

Please share the love and solidarity with friends and family.

Even just the price of your Sunday pizza-night can make the difference for the construction of a clinic!
