Help Hayla Come Home

Donation protected
On January 12th, Joey and Tina welcomed their beautiful baby girl Hayla Clair into the world. The moment they had been waiting for had finally come but it wasn't how anyone expected. Hayla was born with a large mass on her neck and immediately had to be transported to a bigger hospital. After arriving there, doctors were still unsure what Hayla was facing and again was transferred to another hospital, this time to Children's Hospital Colorado.

Hayla went through several treatments and a procedure to remove the mass. After which, pathology determined it was a cancerous teratoma. The doctors tried to extubate Hayla after she recovered from surgery. Hayla was unable to breathe on her own because the teratoma had prevented her trachea to grow correctly. She has a tracheostomy to be able to breathe. With the trach in, Hayla is having difficulty swallowing. She was not getting enough nutrition on her own, so her doctors have given her a g-tube.

Hayla has made great strides and is ready to go home after four long months. Unfortunately she has just lost her insurance coverage. At home she will need a feeding pump with bags, oxygen, trach collar and equipment for it like a humidifier, pulse sock, and a monitor. Hayla will also need some in home nursing for the first month. She can not be discharged until Joey and Tina can pay for these things. The cost of the medical equipment and nursing is estimated to be about $20,000.

We are asking for your donations to help get this sweet baby home!
