Help give "Phoebe" a chance at life

Last night around 1:30 a.m. when my S.O. (Jaryd) came back home from work, he decided to throw the trash in our apartment complex dumpster.  In the dark, he proceeded to open the lid and heard a loud growl. He looked and saw a dog tightly tied up to the back of the dumpster. He came into the house and let me know the situation. I grabbed some chicken that I had cooked for dinner, and we went to look for the dog. I used my phone to light the way.

She was abandoned. The heartless person that left her in the dark on a cold night of December made sure that she could not escape, and that she was hidden.

The scared dog was growling, and we thought she would bite us. I threw a small piece of chicken but the dog was tied up so tight to the dumpster that she could not reach the food. She savagely ate the little pieces of chicken once Jaryd had pushed the food towards her with his shoe. When we thought it was safe to get close, we started to pet her. It was so difficult to untie her since she could not breathe even if I pulled slightly.

Once we managed to untie her, we brought her inside our apartment. She was so malnourished, and was missing fur from different parts of her body. She seemed to have an bad skin rash and infection. Since we did not have dog food, we gave her the rest of the chicken and vegetables. She was so cold, but was so happy that we found her and fed her. Jaryd grabbed one of our comforters and used it as a bed for the dog. We decided to take her to the veterinarian first thing in the morning instead of just leaving her at a shelter.

The next morning we went to the veterinarian, she got some tests done, had a couple injections, and was given shampoo, ointment, and spray for the rash. Jaryd, being in the Marine Corps, and myself, being a Junior college student with a part time job, did not have enough money to do all the procedures she needed, but we tried to get as much done as we could costing us about $300.00.

Phoebe also has a heart disease that can kill her in a year or two if she does not get the required testing and medication soon. Other than what we paid already paid for, the total cost for the bare necessities is $1700.00. Jaryd and I are willing to provide for everyday medication she will need to have a good lifestyle.

We will like to keep her and love her for the rest of her life. She deserves this and so much more.

Jaryd and I ask for a small donation from you to help this lovely dog have a chance at life after being neglected by her past family.

We are so thankful that you read this message, and if you are able to give a donation, it will be so much appreciated. If you cannot give a donation, we ask you to please share this post on Facebook to help us reach our goal.

We will post pictures of Phoebe to give updates to all of our helpers.

This holiday season, please help Jaryd and I keep Phoebe healthy and happy.
