Hey everyone - this is James Hatton, friend of and SomethingSomethingCast cohost with, Podcast Rob.
For those who know Rob, he and his family are very private people, so when he asked me to set this page up for him and his sister, I knew the situation was a dire one.
Their father has been in and out of the hospital for most of the last year with the regular complications and twists and turns that come with cancer. He's been through chemo, which slowed the process briefly, but as anyone who has dealt with this nightmare, sometimes the best medicines aren't enough.
The cancer is spreading and there is likely not a lot of time left.
The problem is the aftermath. These sorts of things are never cheap. There will be a lot of fees and costs and needs very quickly, and quite a bit of it is going to fall into the hands of Rob and his sister who work full time jobs, but between the time already taken off and the upcoming time necessary over the next few weeks, the funeral and cremation costs, the continued mortgage while they try to sell the home that Rob and his father have lived in... it's easy to understand that he is sinking fast.
This money will go towards funeral costs and associated fees to lessen the burden while his family mourns.
As I write this, their family are at their father's side, but I will be providing more details as well as the ongoing timeline as they come.
