Help Fox Pay for Neck Surgery

Donation protected
In Dec 2015, I got kicked in the head during kickboxing training. I suffered a major concussion. This developed into what was thought to be Post Concussion Syndrome, which is a condition of prolonged concussion- like symptoms. It is thought to be strictly brain related.           Eventually, evidence, in the form of X-rays and a CT scan, came forth that pin pointed the issue to be instability between my C1 and C2 cervical vertebrae (aka Atlantoaxial instability). This causes blood flow to be restricted to my brain by pinching the vertebral arteries and damaging nerves in that area. This results in fainting, severe headaches, nausea, vertigo, concentration issues, and clumsiness.
Because of these complications, I have gone from being an extremely fit and active person, to someone confined to my house, and unable to walk safely without a neck brace.  I have been on disability for over 2 years, and unfit for work. I have been unable to live a normal life or take an active part in community activities. By isolating myself, I have lost contact with friends, as I have been too unwell to even socialize in a comfortable indoor setting, let alone all the physical activities that I used to enjoy.  I have been scared that I would never get any better, that I was going to be disabled for the rest of my life.
I have spent thousands of dollars and tried dozens of different treatments to try to get better. This includes: chiropractic, extensive physical therapy, laser therapy, and PRP injections, to name a few. After having zero success with any of these, including conventional healthcare, I finally learned from my research that what I needed, might be surgery, to fuse the vertebrae.
In spite of this, I have been unable to find a neurosurgeon in Canada who has the necessary experience to properly diagnose or deal with this type of issue. I flew to Maryland, in the United States, to consult with a neurosurgeon who was familiar with this condition. He is an expert in the field and correctly diagnosed me, and will perform the fusion surgery that will correct this instability.
However, the cost will be around $60,000 USD, (around $82 000 Canadian ),plus travel.  With no possibility of having the surgery performed in Canada,  I’m asking for help to raise this money so that I can have the surgery performed in the States, return to work and start living a healthy and fulfilling life again.
