Help for Zeke and his family

We are Project 1, a non-profit dedicated to helping those in need, one person, one family, one cause at a time. We are seeking your help to change the life of a young boy named Zeke who was born without arms and legs.

Zeke, from the mid-Michigan area, was brought to our attention by a group of his school teachers who approached us, seeking to to help improve Zeke’s life through the purchase of a special robotic arm that would open up a new life for him.

Zeke was born without arms and legs. Zeke lives in an apartment too small to accommodate Zeke’s special motorized wheelchair. This wheelchair that Zeke learned to use at school also can’t be brought home because the family can’t afford a handicapped-equipped minivan to transport it. Needless to say, any independence provided to Zeke by the power wheelchair is lost when school ends each day.

Project 1 committed to Zeke, his teachers, and his family that it would purchase the robotic arm and the special wheelchair it will be attached to. But we soon realized that there is more to be done if we are truly to improve Zeke’s quality of life. We need to purchase the family a new handicap-equipped van to replace the the current 2002 minivan they drive with nearly 200,000 miles on it, so Zeke and his new robotic arm/wheelchair device can be transported in it and, if we’re lucky, we’ll raise enough money to relocate the family to larger quarters.
