Greg Rawlings is a friend who is one of the most selfless human beings on the planet. For those of you who know him, you probably have been on the receiving end of his generosity and kindness. Now he needs our help. His daughter, Elena, needs our help, and we are reaching out to friends and family to help our dear friends.
The Backstory
Over the past couple of years Elena has faced severe mental health challenges that have affected her ability to thrive as an adolescent.
With the guidance of school, family, and professionals, resources have been found to help Elena face her challenges. After a nine-week assessment & treatment plan, Elena is now enrolled in a residential school that offers academic course work and intensive therapy. In the four months that Elena has been enrolled, she has made enormous progress. However, she has a lot of work remaining. The current program is recommending at least 8 more months for her to learn how to fully integrate the skills, confidence, tools, and habits into her life. Elena initiated the process of healing, wants to do the work, and is committed to see it through. Elena has already shown herself to be an exceptionally compassionate and generous person and now she and her family need our help.
The Cost
As one might imagine this does not come at a small cost. Unfortunately insurance does not cover this type of treatment. Personal funds have been completely depleted. 529 accounts cashed in. Greg’s work hours have been compromised for all of the research, travel, and care surrounding the situation. Immediate family members have been providing significant support but the well is running dry. If funds cannot be raised, treatment will need to be cut short because these facilities require payment to be kept current.
