Help for the Bahamas after Dorian
Donation protected
Hi everybody!
2 beautiful Bahamian islands Abaco and Grand Bahama were hit by the Category 5 hurricane Dorian. After 3 days of winds, rain and extremely high storm surge most parts of those islands were either wiped out or severely damaged.
I moved to Freeport, Grand Bahama from Europe last year to work for a local pharmaceutical company on a short-term contract and I will be staying on the island until the end of this year. A lot of people and my friends from the company lost a lot and many lost everything. I am trying to raise donations to help them replace items they lost during the storm. Most of the damage in Freeport was caused by high levels of water so kitchen appliances (due to water damage to electrical parts) and furniture (due to mold) can't be used any more.
Donations raised in this campaign will be used to buy new kitchen appliances (stove and fridge) and furniture (chairs, mattresses), as well as clothes for two families whose houses were flooded over roof level.
At the moment there is only one store with house items open on the island but it is well stocked and I plan to buy the items directly from there as the withdrawals of donations are being approved.
Thank you so much for your contributions!
