Help for Nana and Poppi

Donation protected
To all my friends, family, loved ones, brothers and sisters in blue, and all anonymous people to whom I may never get to express my eternal gratitude, let me first tell you how grateful I am that you would take the time to read this. I have never been a part of starting an endeavor like this, however recently events have unfolded that are far beyond my ability to control or influence other than seeking the prayers for my mother and father that are so important. The last six months have been a true struggle for them as they have both been diagnosed with cancer. It started with my mother approximately three years ago when she was diagnosed with colon cancer. She is the most stubborn woman and would overcome the foul disease after a relatively early diagnosis and eventual surgery! However a few short years later, and the beautiful couple only in their early 50s, were diagnosed with stage 3 cancer at nearly the same time, within about a month of one another. Poppi as commonly referred to by his grandchildren was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and later tasked to endure aggressive chemotherapy and radiation therapy. While he was completing these sessions, missing work to do so, losing hair and weight and still tending to other's needs, Nana also learned that she too was sick yet again. As much as she tried to be the rock for him as she had always been, it became apparent that she would need to depend on others for his and her very survival. This is contradictory to their own nature because even though they did not have more than most any other working middle class family they help anyone and everyone else who needed it, up to and including when it was actually detrimental to their own goals and dreams. Poppi has been the hardest working person I have ever met and it truly saddens me that I cannot do more for them personally when it comes to financial issues and that is why I have poured out my heart and soul for them here. If anyone, anywhere truly wanted to give to help another rest assured this is a worthy cause. At this time of strife I truly believe that a little breathing room for them in terms of medical expenses, day to day living needs, and a little less stress would greatly benefit them. God bless everyone and I truly appreciate all that would help. Regards, a son that wishes he could do more...
