Help for my mom Zofia

This is my mom Zofia. She has just turned 67. She loves reading books, walking and most of all spoiling her loved grandson!

On the 27th of February this year, my mom suffered a stroke while being here in Ireland. The stroke caused quite severe damage to her brain. She has been in the hospital undergoing recovery since. According to the professional team looking after my mom here in Cork, she has reached her recovery point and it will never be possible for my mom to be independent again. Unfortunately, my mom does not speak English which is not helping her recovery. The hospital is looking to transfer my mom back home to Poland which obviously involves huge costs.

My mom requires 24h care and medical equipment which she simply cannot afford as a pensioner (whether full-time home care or nursing home). It is unlikely this will change for the rest of her life. As a pensioner, her funds are limited, and she will need financial support.

This has been a very difficult period for us. It was very sudden and came as a great surprise, as my mom has always been very active and full of life. I am asking for help to make sure my mom can somehow spend the rest of life in peace.
