39029512_1557161990398787_r.jpegThis is Moto. He’s and English mastiff. He is my in laws dog and lives out in the country by the sand hill state park.  Last night we got the call that the neighbors had found Moto on the side of Valley road left for dead. We thought he had been hit by a car. It was too bloody to tell. His whole leg/hip is swollen the size of a soccer ball. We took him to Central Kansas Veterinary Clinic in South Hutchinson. They did X-rays and found his whole bone had been shattered and had buckshot. The vet said it is bad, worse than they had thought. Bone fragments are everywhere. They vet said they wouldn’t suggest an amputation because of the size of Moto (120 lbs)  it may be hard for him to get up on one leg especially with hip dysplasia, plus all the weight he would now have on only 3 legs. They reached out to a specialist to see if they could get us in because a our vet can’t do plates, wires and screws on his leg because it is so messed up and it’s above their pay grade. They explained it to us that his leg is a puzzle right now and the only way a specialist can repair his leg is if they can get all the bones to fit right. With going to a specialist it is going to cost a lot more than we had expected to pay for a normal vet.

If you are able to donate even if it’s a small amount please do so!
You can also call Central Kansas veterinary clinic to donate in Motos name! Their number is

Help us get Moto the help he deserves and justice! If you can’t donate please keep us in your prayers as we have a long recovery road to go down.

Moto is 6 days into recovery and he’s doing great! He doesn’t need help getting up or down anymore, although sometimes he is slow at doing so. He ran today for the first time with three legs! His sutures are healing and he gets them removed on May 17th... just 5 short days! We were weary about how he was going to do but at this point he has shown us he is a warrior who will work hard everyday to be a normal dog.

UPDATE, the specialist at K-state said his leg wasn’t going to be repairable. They had to amputate his whole left leg yesterday . It’s been very hard for him to stand up and go to the bathroom. He’s had a few accidents where he peed and pooped himself. This is going to be a long hard recovery journey with lots of leg therapy. He is currently taking 19 pills a day for pain reliever, antibiotics, and inflammation plus a multivitamin and a joint supplement we have him on that the vet suggested. We have a huge vet bill due and are still needing donations! Please help if you can even if it’s a small amount, anything helps.
