Help Gilis & Lombok

Dear friends and family,
You have probably seen the terrible effects of the earthquakes on the Gilis and Lombok. As you may also know I was there only a short while ago and want to go back. The house I was staying in has been totally destroyed, I was devastated, but my feelings go out to all those who have lost there loves ones and their homes.
The Gilis are 3 islands just of the north coast of Lombok. My heart has been touched by Gili Meno in particular, since there is a local desire to conserve the environment and eliminate plastic. You may know by now that this is my new vocation since I left my job last year July. I have been there recently and will go back at the end of september, if security is not compromised.
I have friends that live on Gili Meno and have stayed there to protect the island but also because the camps on Lombok are overly busy. Many other friends who worked on Meno went back to their families to help them get to safety and organise logistics to get basic supplies and medication. 90% of them live in North Lombok the most hit area.
The main focus now is to provide water, food, medecine and tents.

As little as 5€ helps to give food, 50€ buys a filter that can provide 21,000 liters of clean water, 100€ can help a family of 5 for 2 weeks with their basic needs.
One of the people I am working closely together with is Wijnand Langeraar. He was one of the first in north Lombok with his private boat stacked with basic supplies, 2 days after the 6.9 earthquake. He is going back on Monday 13/08 this time with 2 boats. (See Volkskrant articles in Dutch HULPVERLENER LOMBOK & HULP LOMBOK )
Another local I am in contact with is Adhitya Yusuf from the project Daur (see facebook: an NGO whose motto is empowering locals through environment) who I met in July. He is coordinating help from his family house as his own house was destroyed.
