Help for Cheri Lawson

Cheri Lawson needs our help. She is a good friend, great mother, and one of the most service driven individuals known to the city of Kingsville. Cheri, over her many years of serving the community has brought everyone she has met closer together in ways that are difficult to explain with just one paragraph on a website.  Being a lifetime resident of Kingsville born to Bob and Leila Lawson, Cheri attended HM King High school and then studied at both Coastal Bend College and later Texas A&M University Kingsville, where she focused on the medical field. Soon after graduating she became a Registered Nurse and immediately went to providing care for those around her at CHRISTUS Spohn . Through her many years of church service Cheri was able to provide youth outreach, teaching  sunday school, and always being available for youth as a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear. In 2013, Cheri was diagnosed with cancer. While shocked, her Christian faith and support from the community kept her smiling throughout one of the hardest times of her life. After her extensive rounds of chemo, radiation, and surgery ended she was declared cancer free. Cheri was in remission for 3 years. She continued to provide for the community and kept her faith strong. In 2016 her cancer relapsed, this time as an aggressive form of liposarcoma, found not in one part of the body (as before), but multiple, making radiation and surgery impossible. Liposarcoma is a rare cancer found within fat cells of the body. She is currently undergoing treatment and is no longer able to work. Due to recent heavy rains her house was flooded, and she is currently living with her parents, trying to take care of both herself and her mother and father. 

Funds provided by this campaign will be used to pay to repair her house and to help pay for all medical expenses.
