Help for Avalon

In October of 2018, while on a date, Avalon was sexually assaulted. She kept it to herself because of the resulting shame she felt. She has also battled depressive episodes for most of her life, which largely went untreated. But, the results of this severe trauma reopened past wounds, and weeks of compounded shame, depression, anxiety and PTSD led to overwhelming suicidal feelings.
Between December and January she was hospitalized three times. From February to April, Avalon entered a residential treatment program and received intensive therapy, and learning coping skills to help her deal with the effects of the sexual trauma she has suffered. Recently, after months of significant progress using the skills she has learned, she was readmitted to the hospital for another short stay to help her get through a severe suicidal episode.
Although she is now back at home, the journey of recovery is far from over as Avalon continues with outpatient treatment, medication and therapy to deal with her daily struggle of panic attacks, flashbacks and shame-filled thoughts.
How can you help?
Avalon has incurred, and continues to incur, significant medical expenses, most of which are not covered by her insurance. She is an incredible woman. One good friend said, "The first time I met Avalon I was awed the amount of light and love that she exuded. Her incredible heart shines through in every interaction she has with others, and she's a blessing to everyone in her life. I wish she didn't have to suffer through this, but she's smart and tenacious and has a great sense of humor and great faith, and I know she'll come out of this challenging experience even stronger."

$1,000 for ambulance fees
$8,000 for her multiple hospitalizations
$4,500 for her 3-month stay in the residential treatment program
$6,500 for diagnostic lab work and medications administered while inpatient
