Help for a father to be a father!

A little background of my husband, he is 28, a marine veteran who served in combat in Afghanistan. He has a 6 year old son and a 5 year old daughter with his ex wife. He took in my oldest daughter who is 4 and treats her as his own. Together we have two daughters, 2 and 10 months old. He is the sole provider in our household and I am a stay at home mom/wife.
For the past 3 years that I have been with my husband, I have witnessed first hand the inequality that fathers receive from the family court system. During the first round of proceedings with his ex wife, my husband couldn’t see his children on a regular basis and only on her terms, under her supervision and never leaving her residence. (Because legally father’s cant do anything without a court order) After the first round of court that he did without a lawyer, their court order kept me (his wife) from being around their children at all. Immediately after that agreement was filed we got a lawyer and went back to court for a more fair agreement. After almost a year back in court (and living on a very tight budget with 3 children that live with us all the time and paying $500 a month in child support for his older children afore mentioned) she finally agreed to remove the clause restraining me from the children. Since then we have had his two children every other weekend, permitting she actually shows up. My husband has been respectful at every pick up and drop off, he has paid his child support every two weeks on time every time. He offers to help with other expenses if needed even when we don’t really have money to spare. Always to be met with a hasty attitude and derogatory and spiteful remarks. Recently we have found that their mother is dating, and has been for 2 years unbeknownst to us, a convicted felon for menacing. We looked up his record and found multiple arrests for domestic violence. And an open case for bashing his 7 year old sons head in the wall. He is being charged with domestic violence and endangering the welfare of a child and is currently out on bail. After telling her our findings we were shocked to know that she already had knowledge of all of this. Since then we have witnessed and recorded her boyfriend threatening to sit outside her house, saying he will get her and that he has ptsd and not to f*** with him, he will f*** up anthing she has. We thought that was the end of their relationship, until he showed up at pick up again. Our kids are having multiple unexcused tardies from school, failing homework grades, doctors appointments that she won’t tell their father what they are for or where they see a physician. We have called cps. We have contacted Veterans Affairs. We have searched high and low on the internet for legal help or any help at all so that he can reopen his case and have a judge reevaluate custody. We can’t afford to pay a lawyer but our kids matter! Their safety and stability matter. Please even if it’s a couple dollars, help my husband l, help our kids. They deserve to live in a stable home with stable parents who will keep them safe and allow them to love both parents without fear of repercussions. Thank you for reading.
