Musakun Satybaldiev is one of the famous writers in Kyrgyzstan. He was born on April 22, 1950 in the village of Saruu, Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region. From birth, he suffered from leg ailments and until the age of 14 he could only move by crawling. In 1964 after the surgery in Frunze, in the capital of Kyrgyzstan in Soviet time, he began to slowly move with crutches. After he had several surgeries in Tashkent, but none of them were successful. So he walked with his crutches all his life. Unfortunately, the past 6 years he moves only in the wheelchair and can not walk or stand.
He learned Kyrgyz and Russian at home because the school was very far and he could not walk. Since there was no equipment for him to use in order to move, the only option was to crawl. His older sister tied a pencil to his hand so that he could write, because his hands were also paralyzed. During that time he read many books, especially books on literature. He began to publish the his small works in the regional newspaper.
In the early 1970s he began to write poetry and stories. Gradually, he became famous in the country as a person who despite his ailments, was able to find his path by following his passion. He wrote beautiful poems and stories, later big novels.
One of his books was translated to Russian and was published under the title "Light in the hearth". In 1989, his book "Oruk gulu" was translated into Mongolian and published in Ulaanbaatar. Also, in 1995 the Irish Charitable Foundation published his book in Dublin. Many of his works were published in magazines and newspapers in Turkey, Kazakhstan and China.
Among the readers of Kyrgyzstan, the novel “Beittegi Boz Torgoy” was the most popular. He has been a member of the Writers' Union of Kyrgyzstan since 1996. He was awarded numerous awards and diplomas.
Due to the fact that his hands are paralyzed, he is 1-group disabled, he is in a big need of a wheelchair, which is equipped with a battery and moves without assistance. His repeated appeals for help to the domestic authorities did not lead to anything.
Recently he turned to me for help. Knowing his difficult fate and his creativity, I decided not to stay away and to offer my help.
I address to you, dear fellow countrymen, that we can help him, with this, we will help Musakun aksakal to move around the city so that he can meet his readers and explore the world with his own eyes. We need to collect only 1500 dollars to buy him a wheelchair with a battery in Moscow and deliver it to Kyrgyzstan.
Every little counts. If you are not able to donate, please spread the word, so that other people can learn about this great talent!
