Help Fix Nick ~ Epilepsy Awareness

My son Nick could really use your help .  Right now he is at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  He has had epilepsy since he was 6 years old and has now progressed to the point where medication and his VNS device no longer work to control his seizures.  The seizures have become dangerous and have become his whole life.  From age 6 he fought hard through all the side effects of all the medications he had to take in order to make it through school.  I was so proud when he graduated from high school and earned the Merit Award for Diesel Mechanics!  He was accepted to the University of Northwest in Ohio to pursue his dream of becoming a diesel mechanic.  While he was away at college the seizures began to become uncontrollable and he had to drop out and come home.  The doctors were able to help stabilize him with the implantation of the VNS device and more medication until he developed hyponatremia, dangerously low sodium levels.  When the doctors had to adjust his medication the seizures returned with a vengeance.  He's seen 3 doctors since January who have exhausted all of their treatment options for Nick.

The doctors at the Mayo Clinic believe they have a 70 percent chance of controlling Nick's seizures and perhaps even stopping them altogether with one of three surgery options.  Nick is completely on board with all of this as he just wants a normal life back.  He wants to be 22 and start a life with his girlfriend Amanda, work, have a career, earn a paycheck.  

He was admitted to the Mayo Clinic this week for specialized testing which will let the doctors decide which surgery Nick will be the best candidate for.  His treatment at the Mayo Clinic must all be paid for by him as he is considered self pay here.  So any help you can give to him will be so very appreciated.
