Help Find Littlefoot
Donation protected
On December 2, 2018, my boyfriend had a seizure when he was walking with our dog, Littlefoot, at Prince Edward and East 10th in Vancouver, BC. Littlefoot then ran off, scared. I was not in town when this happened, although I was already on my way back. We rescued Littlefoot from Thailand and he arrived to his new life in Vancouver, BC, on September 19. He is a very shy, timid dog around other people but we have been working hard with him to get him adjusted and comfortable to his new life here.
We have exhausted all ways to spread the word to find him -- Facebook posts, Twitter posts, calling animal rescue and the SPCA, have logged him missing with the city. At the time he went missing at Prince Edward and East 10 in Vancouver, he was wearing a red leash with a Bark Busters collar. His name tag is scratched up because he has been trying to chew it, but he has a Wagg Tagg ID and his City of Vancouver tag. He is also microchipped.
Now, we need your help. Hiring a pet detective is our last opportunity, and money is limited. We want to try everything we can to find him, which includes hiring a pet detective. A pet detective is not cheap. Because Littlefoot is a fearful dog, it is likely people may not return him because he may seem abused, which rest assured he is NOT. " Due to their cowering, fearful behavior, people assume these dogs were “abused,” and even if the dog has ID tags, they will refuse to contact the previous owner. Some of these panic-stricken dogs will even run from their owners! It may be necessary to use other dogs to get close enough to capture them or to use baited dog traps."
Hiring a pet detective is our last resort, and starting a Go Fund me is not my proudest moment, but I am hopeful that people will help out. For a four hour search it is roughly $1,000, I do not know if we will need more than that. In the event Littlefoot is found without a pet detective, all funds will be returned immediately to those who help donate. In the event more money is raised than what we need, all funds will go towards the SPCA or the rescue facility where Littlefoot came from, or back to those who donated.
Thank you in advance, this has rocked my world to its core. It's enough that my partner had a seizure with the dog, nevermind the dog fleeing as a result.
Original goal was $1,000. That goal was reached quickly. $1,200 was paid to pet searchers, $250 was donated to Rescue Paws, and about $150 was put aside for additional fees, but it was not enough. Any other donations are appreciated. Thank you all for helping, donating and spreading the word.
