Help Family with Cancer

Donation protected
I am starting this GoFundMe for my wife and family.  This is very hard for us to do as we do not like to ask anyone for help, we are usually the ones helping others, but we need help.

Several days before my Wife's 40th birthday in 2017 she was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer.

We originally went to the Dr's for suspected kidney stones and left with a diagnosis that would change our lives forever.  It was at that diagnosis that my wife was given 2 years to live.  A time frame that neither of us were prepared to hear or accept.

We did what we felt was best and got a second opinion.  We made an appointment with Dana Farber in Boston, MA.  They confirmed the diagnosis however did not give a time frame on my wife's life.  They laid out a treatment plan of 10 chemo therapies with high hopes that it would yield positive results.  We were pleased with this and my wife was ready to fight this disease.

This treatment started in November of 2017.  Chemotherapy was every 3 weeks.  We are now almost a full 7 months in and finished treatment number 7.  During my wife's last scan her body was accepting the treatment and the cancer was receding.  We will have 3 more treatments and then have another scan and will talk to the Dr. about next steps.

My wife has also started radiation therapy.  We are just finishing the 12 rounds of radiation that was laid out and will then continue on the chemo treatment.

With the treatment comes many side effects.  With these side effects my wife has been unable to work as many hours as she used to.  She is still a massive trooper and is working about 10 hours a week but this much lower than what we are used to, so because of this we are loosing a massive amount of income.

There have been some credit card bills we have been unable to pay as the monthly rate went drastically up and with the loss of income we cannot pay those bills.  Also every chemo treatment is going to cost $1,000 after insurance.

My wife and I have two kids.  One is almost 18 years old and the other is 8.

We have learned a lot through our journey and as always looking to help others.

We have made a website where we want to unite families with cancer, friends, loved ones, or anyone just looking for information.   We want to share what worked for us, what didn't work, and to educate.  Our website is online right now and can be viewed at, https://sos-cc.org.

We are also creating a video game.  The video game is going to be a mobile video for Apple IOS devices.  The game is going to be about my wife fighting cancer in a rogue-like rpg setting.  This will be a free game.  Our vision for this game is that it can be played by the kids in Dana Farber and give them hope that they can beat this disease and that they do have a chance to win.  It's also going to be a fun game for any kid and adult to play.   To read more about the game please visit our website.   More information can also be found at our dev diary:  www.gamedev.net/blogs/blog/2850-sos-cc-ios-game-development/

The help we are asking for is a minimum of $500.  Why this minimum?  This minimum is what we need to finish the video game and have it be available on Apple IOS.  It will cost us $400 for the gamemaker license to convert code to Apple IOS and then another $100 for an Apple developer license.    The game is already almost half done.  I wanted to get at least this much done to ensure everyone that it will in fact finish and be released, we just need your help.

Any money that exceeds the minimum donation of $500 will go to my family.   It will go towards my wife's treatment and all bills that we have accrued from treatment and the loss of hours from my wife's job.

Thank you very much for listening to our story and for any help that you can provide.
