Help Exchange Student Travel

My husband and I are hosting a foreign exchange student from Kazakhstan.  He did not have a host family when he arrived, so we agreed to help him out with this situation.  He moved in with us a month after arriving here and will be living with us until mid-May.  We can not post his name for legal reasons.   His dream while here is to make it to "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" at Universal Studios.  Ideally we would like to take him to the Florida park.  His parents cannot afford to send him.  My husband and I also do not have the financial resources to do so, either.  

Why can't we pay for this out of pocket?  I am disabled and only work 15 hours a week.   My husband is a teacher and his paychecks pay all the bills with very little left over.  This summer we had mutlple home issues which drained us of every penny of our savings account.  Since I cannot work a lot of hours, we do not have the money to go on any vacations. 

We really want to help our student see another part of our country.  We would like to be in Florida  for seven days.  This will change if we don't raise enought funds. Our ideal plan is to start our vacation at Universal Studios.  We plan on buying a muli-day park hopper pass so we can go back when time allows.  He is also  interested  in space; so we would like to take him to Kennedy Space Center.  While in Florida we can't miss Disney World!  We would be spending one day there.  We also hope to drive to a beach and hang out by the ocean.  Our goal is to give him a wide range of experinces and to see as much as possible. 

We have not bought tickets, paid for a hotel, or airline tickets.  All money raised will cover all costs for the trip.  If we can not raise the full amount the money will still be used for a vacation for him closer to home.  

We will be closing the fund raising on January 31st so we can use the funds for a trip in early March 2017. 

If you donate you will receive the reward listed on the side of the screen.  If you live within a 2 to 3 hour driving range from Coon Rapids, Minnesota we will personally deliver your reward!

Here are the rewards:

$10 or less:  a video thank you created by us wherever we end up thanking you for helping us

$11-$25:  the video thank you and a handwritten thank you note from us

$26-50:  the video, note and a picture taken by our student on our trip.  He is taking a photography class 2nd trimester, so he should take good pictures!

$51-$100:  Everything listed and then a picture of your choice taken by our student on our vacation.  We will send you a list of locations for your choosing before we go so you can choose

$101 plus:  All of the above, plus a small souvenir from our vacation.
