Help Edythe De La Rosa

Donation protected

Edythe De La Rosa is a lovely, kind, and elderly lady who has been generally self-sufficient for most of her life, she's raised a family and lives on her own.  She recently had her vehicle, wheelchair and walker stolen from her and now has been left without a way to get around.  This gofundme endeavor is an effort that will be used to help her recover what was stolen; that being a vehicle that will be sufficient to help her maintain her independence as she's always done.  The funds would be prefered to be raised as soon as possible, but there isn an understanding of what time of year this has occurred; every little bit helps!! So please, think of your own family, wouldn't it be nice to help out a lovely lady who has always been a joy to know, such as your own mother, grandmother, aunt or anyone else you love dearly to maintain their quality of life and independence so long as they can?  I know I would! Thank you all SO much for any contribution you are able to spare to help this awesome lady out with her needs and peace of mind; help bring about a resurgence of kind-hearted people who are willing to help out whenever they can, you'll be glad you did!
Text from KATU2 interview with Ms. Edythe on her stolen van, wheelchair, and walker:

"STAYTON, Ore. — Edythe De La Rosa lives at her home in Stayton with a caretaker. She relies on a wheelchair and walker to get around her home.

With the weekend storm heading to the Pacific northwest, the 91-year-old said she loaded both her wheelchair and walker in to her van to prepare for a quick evacuation.

The storm came and went, but Sunday she realized her van was gone.

“I don't understand how anyone, Christian or not, could do that to a person in my condition - or my age,” Edythe said.

Edythe had to save part of her social security checks for over a year in order to buy the wheelchair and walker.

“I was in 7th heaven, I could go anywhere!” Edythe remembered.

With the walker, Edythe was able to get around her home and tend to her flowers. Now she is confined to a chair in her kitchen.

“My little walker was worth a million dollars to me,” Edythe said.

Edythe has outlived her husband and six children. She says she feels even more alone without the ability to move around her home with ease.

“It's all the family I got, my family's all gone, I’m all alone,” Edythe said. “I can’t do much, my hands don't work, I’ve had a stroke... why do that to me? What did I do to them?”

Edythe has called her insurance company, State Farm, they say she has a $1,000 deductible -- money Edythe just doesn't have.

“I prayed very hard that I would wake up and my car would be sitting in the yard, she was like one of the family,” Edythe said."

My name is Cherie and I am congregation member in the same congregation that Edythe is a member of in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I was asked to raise these funds for Ms. Edythe so that she would be able to recover what she has lost.  That is my connection to Ms. Edythe (for any who *might* have questions relating to that).  The funds will be used for the reason already stated in the original text part of why the campaign was started in the first place. Nothing more, nothing less.  This statement is requested by gofundme for reasons related to 'transparency'.   The logistics for 'how' the funds will get to Ms. Edythe will absolutely comply with gofundme's policies and will only go to Ms. Edythe; period.  No third parties, no ulterior motives, nothing of the sort.  So please know that these monies being raised will 100% go directly toward the procurement of a vehicle for Edythe in order for her to maintain her deserved independence.
