New Hardware for Dofler Project
Donation protected
Dofler is an open-source project that aides in network awareness at many information security conferences, such as THOTCON, CircleCityCon, BSidesLV, and others. One of Dofler's main functions (and arguably one of the more entertaining ones) is to carve out images being sent over the network and displays them on the screen in realtime.
Unfortunately, as the popularity of Dofler grew, so did the porn problem, and now the Dofler project is stradled with the need to implimenting a porn filter on the images before displaying them for all to see. This creates an issue for the overall project, as the current hardware simply cannot handle the computational needs of analyzing the images on top of all of the traffic analysis.
With the current hardware already at maximum capacity handling image carving, statistics, account carving, and vuln analysis; all of these things take a lot of computational resources, and the current hardware is simply stressed out enough already.
Without these funds, we will not be able to bring Dofler to these conferences for the enjoyment and educational experience of the attendees.
What we are asking for is enough funds to purchase a new peice of equipment that meets the following needs:
* 6 or more CPU cores
* 2 Network interfaces
* 32G RAM
* 500G SSD
* Travel-friendly form-factor
* Currently looking at an https://www.supermicro.com/products/system/Mini-ITX/SYS-E200-8D.cfm
