Help Dianne DeMello

Hi everyone I’ve known Dianne since I was in my 20s she is a life long friend and sister... really my family I know we’ve all been so worried about Dianne and all I could think of was let’s get her out of a dangerous situation and the best way I know to help her is for all of us to band together and raise some funds for her and her darling cat Ricki to find temporary shelter. I’ve asked Dianne to talk a bit about her situation so show some love... here is what she sent....I am a 68 year old woman with health issues that make it hard for me to do much besides stay in bed and watch movies. I suffer from severe fatigue and muscle pain as well as frayed tendons in my shoulders. This makes it difficult for me to get around or do simple things like clean my house or carry a grocery bag. My only income is my Social Security check every month which barely covers my living expenses. I have a mortgage as well as other monthly bills

I live on the Big Island of Hawaii and have been told that we have to evacuate within a few days. They are closing the only road to my house and this will be in effect for a few months. The shelters are mostly full and utter chaos. I need to leave and find a small place to rent which in itself is very hard to find. The rentals are more than I can afford and it's especially hard to find one that will take a cat. Ricky and I are inseparable, and unlike most I will not leave my Ricky to starve here alone. Ricky is part feral due to the fact that I live in a very rural area with very few visitors. So he is afraid of anyone he doesn't know and will run off if he hears anything out of the ordinary, like someone he doesn't know walking down the path to my home, or a strange car pulling up.

I have found a place that may rent to Ricky and me but it is more than I can afford. They want first and last which amounts to $2500. They tell us it will be at least three months before we can go back to our homes once the lava eruptions have stopped. This is all conjecture. It will be months, but how many we can't say.

I am asking for help so that I can have enough to keep paying my mortgage here at my house, car insurance and other general bills that must be paid. I also need enough money to be able to stay in a rental with Ricky for at least three months.

If anyone can find it in their heart to help me I would greatly appreciate it. We have nowhere safe to go.And I am very scared and alone here.
