Help Davis fight Leukemia

The Verdier Family, Friends, and neighbors are raising money on behalf of Meek family to help a dear friend’s son, Davis, who is 3 years old. He was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), a rare form of Leukemia, in April with enlarged liver and anemia. Davis was a blessing after so many miscarriages that he deserves to have a healthy life, and grow up to become a doctor, or a vet, or anything he wants to be. We are hoping with some help from good people he will be able to experience that. Plus, trying to help a family that spent years helping other families in need but now are needing it themselves.
They started noticing Davis was bleeding a lot more when he barely hurt himself while playing outside. Then, he started not really eating too much, and was always feeling very tired.
I’ve known Amanda for the last 18 years, when we first met at a little place called Blockbuster Video when she moved here from Houston with her live in boyfriend and Davis’s Dad because her mom became ill, and was working for Habitat for Humanity helping families in need until she had Davis. She has always been there for me, so I in turn wanted to be there for her. She is having to deal with all these expenses, daycare costs, etc by herself since Davis’s Dad passed away. All this stress and now her mom is back in the hospital battling to live herself. So Amanda is back and forth to the hospital besides trying to take care of Davis. Luckily, a neighbor who has teamed with our family to try to help Amanda. She at least can help Amanda occasionally with watching Davis.
Unfortnately, the bills are starting to pile up, and he still has a few rounds of chemo, then will be starting radiation, and more than likely will need a bone marrow transplant when all is said and done, but it is getting to the point, Amanda, can’t keep up with other expenses during this difficult time, due to also not being able to work because Davis is home sick. Davis’s dad passed away 2 months ago in a car accident so his mom is struggling with unexpected amount of medical bills, living expenses, as well as daycare costs, and trying to get him treatments needed while struggling with all this.
We have helped out, but we are hoping with a few good hearts, and humanity we will be able to gather enough friends and/or donations to help with these bills, and lighten the burden. Costs for radiation treatments will be $2000/month w/Insurance, so we are trying to get this family as much help as we can as it is a difficult time, and they are struggling after initial chemo treatment.
No child deserves to go through this at such an early age. They deserve to experience life rather than experience it in the hospital.
All money donated is going directly to the family. Money raised will help pay bills, and other necessary expenses, and lost income. The other will go to help with daycare so that Amanda can find a full time job that provides good medical benefits since she was a stay at home mom before his accident. Any thing you can spare would be greatly appreciated. No one likes to admit they need help, but this family is in dire need. We are hoping with a little bit of hope we can get enough to help this family out. Please also continue to share his story with anyone who will listen. Share to your social media, work colleagues, etc we need to spread his story if we can.
