Help David Get his Masters

Donation protected
My name is Jo-ke. I'm helping to raise funds on behalf of David Ishaya Osu who is unable to access this platform directly as he lives in Nigeria which is not supported on the 'go fund me' platform. David is raising funds for his Masters in creative writing course due to commence in September. He does not have much time left as he needs three months for his UK visa application.

David is well known to me and is a trusted friend of several years standing. I can tell you without hesitation that David is a beautiful human being,  a  talented poet with a big heart. Incredibly for someone under 30 years of age, David has made a great contribution to the literary world with over 150 publications in various journals to date. In addition to his own poetic works and memoirs, he encourages and promotes writers, including myself.  It's an opportunity for us to give back to someone who is committed to their creativity and that of other writters. Let's do this. Let's support David.

David's appeal:

Greetings, friends
A great opportunity has opened up for me to move forward as a poet, an editor, and as a poetry scholar in the making.

I've been offered a place to study for an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Kent in the forthcoming 2018/19 academic session, and awarded an International Scholarship for my course fees (tuition.) It's the only full fee-waiver the School of English grants annually to an international student at the tuition rate of £15,200. It's exciting that my application and ideas for/from my study were considered and deemed fit for the school.

As this scholarship covers only my tuition, I am left with other expenses, namely:
- the UK student  requirement of £9,135 living expenses
- Visa application fees £348
- Plane ticket £600

I’m using this limited time to ask for your help and advice, any amount given to offer assistance. Nothing is too little; every donation will be greatly appreciated and also acknowledged in future projects as I intend to pay it forward. I'd also welcome any recommendations to charity organisations/foundations that can be of assistance. Before deciding on a public crowdfunding, I wrote and sent many applications for loans and grants but got no good news. So, having run out of options, I run to you all, friends and well-wishers, relying on the goodness of the universe. It’s humbling to need help, to know moving forward cannot occur without the love and generosity of others.

I would be glad to provide further details of the admission/course if necessary. My scholarship and course offer letters are displayed below, plus a newspaper interview.

Every thing I have accomplished in writing to date has been self-directed, and I've had work featured in over 150 publications worldwide (in journals, anthologies, etc.).  So I see this as a miracle opportunity to take my poetry to another level.

I am optimistic about this opportunity, as my plan is to proceed to a PhD afterwards, to obtain the agency to teach poetry and make more contributions to the global literary community.

For those who might want to donate locally and not through this page, you may kindly pay your contribution into my local bank account.
