Help Carlos Attend College

Carlos Choez (center, black shirt) lives in the small fishing village of Puero Lopez, Ecuador. He lives in a 40 x 40 ft room with his family of 21. Carlos just graduated high school with hopes of attending a university to become a civil engineer. Unfortunately the closest university is about 1.5 hours away in Jipijapa. While the cost of attending the University is free, the hour and a half bus ride costs $5 per day. With little money to afford transportation, Carlos is afraid that he may never be able to achieve a better life for his family.

I was fortunate enough to meet Carlos 2 years ago while spending 2 months living in Puerto Lopez. I met him on the beach when he invited me to play soccer with him. After discovering his passion for growth and desire for an education, I began to host English lessons in the evenings for his family. I have experienced Carlos' motivational drive and strong work ethic first hand. It is clear that if presented with the opportunity, this boy will achieve extraordinary things.

I have remained in contact with Carlos over the past two years and it is clear that his fire is still burning. To my fellow college students, this boy would give an arm and a leg to fill the empty seat in the class that you just slept through.

Please help Carlos achieve a better life for his family.
A simple $5 is enough to give this motivated boy a full day of college-level education.
