Help Cure Penelope's Parvo
Donation protected
I was so excited to pick up my 9-week old puppy, Penelope on Saturday 10/6. Less than 24 hours after getting her home, she began vomiting and had blood in her stool. We immediately took her to the emergency vet hospital where Penelope was diagnosed with Parvo Virus. We were instructed to take her to the PVSEC where she was confirmed positive for Parvo and immediately admitted into intensive treatment. After contacting the breeder, she is only responsible for refunding the price of the dog. While this does help, it does not come even close to covering the vet bills we have incurred, not to mention the extreme emotional toll we have been through. Because Parvo is highly contagious, everything that Penelope touched was either cleaned with bleach or thrown away, meaning that most things had to be thrown away and repurchased. Penelope is now HOME! Her vet bills total around $4100, not including everything that had to be repurchased. This has been the hardest obstacle I have ever faced, both mentally and financially. As prepared as I was for Penelope, I never could have imagined this would have happened, and was not prepared for these expenses. Any funds donated will be directly contributed to Penelope's hospital bill. Penelope is such a strong little girl, and I am so happy she is home. I can't wait until she has fully recovered.
