My brother, Trever, and his girlfriend Britnee are expecting a baby. Things took a turn for the worse on Wednesday May 17th while she was getting a check up. They have determined the baby is 23 weeks gestation but has not grown since week 18. Britnee's body is not allowing the nutrients to be transferred to the baby. Here is part of what was written from her on Facebook
"This is not something I do which is show my life on Facebook but I would rather do one big update/updates on here. Trever and I had to make a very hard but easy decision on our daughter today. My body is not equipped to bear a child we have learned. I'm 23 weeks and she is measuring at 18 weeks my umbilical cord and placenta are not working and giving her what she needs. So, the decision came down to sitting at home seeing the doctor hoping we would hear a heart beat every week but knowing that risk of a still birth is very high. Or make our journey to the cities with monitoring and medicine everyday for that could give her what she needs. So we made the decision to everything in our power to give her everything. We would rather know we did everything possible. "
This unfortunately means that while they are in the hospital with everything unknown leaving it all in God's hands at this time, bills will go unpaid, paychecks will go unmade, and this is for a considerable amount of time from everything that has been passed along at this point. It is so hard when your child is in jeopardy, your own health is in jeopardy, I would like to help them relieve just a little bit of the stress and burden so they can concentrate on what really is important right now. At this time they are indefinitely at The Mother Baby Center in Minneappolis, MN.
