The fight for our lives

The year 2018 started off to be the best year ahead for us, My son Lachlan obtained a good Traineeship in October 2017.

He loves going to work and is keen to attend everyday and do overtime and fulfill his work obligations. Being paid low income on a traineeship has not bothered him as he is seeing the benefits he will achieve upon completion.

March 2018 came around and Lachlan woke up in the morning for work and could not see out of his right eye, after spending most of the day to assess his eye the Toowoomba base hospital didn’t have the equipment to diagnose him properly, he was sent straight to the PA hospital in Brisbane, they admitted him straight away as the diagnosis was optical neuritis. More tests were required to find out was causing this neuritis. After spending 7 days in hospital , undergoing life threatening procedures he was diagnosed with MS, he is only 19 years of age, a fit healthy young man struck down with a debilitating disease which will affect him for the rest of his life. I assured him no matter what happens ill always be here for him, to help and provide in any way I can, I would leave my work to care for him anytime he gets bad .The Australian medical board won’t pass curable procedures for MS sufferers as there is a mortality rate and MS doesn’t kill sufferers, just debilitates them badly. Lachlan needs to travel overseas for these curable procedures, which is expensive and we don’t have the funds to send him, I am willing to work 7 days a week and save every cent I can for him to undergo these procedures.

Then July 2018 came around, Myself Corrie had been having some health issues and after visiting doctors regular to assess what was wrong with myself came, The news no one wants to hear. I was diagnosed with advanced metastasized Urothelial Cancer, which is incurable. Again through modern Procedures the doctors say they can’t save me, chemo therapy will buy me an extra bit of time, A devastating blow for myself and my son. Now I may not be able to be here for him at a time when he needs his dad. Unless I can raise the funds to se ehe doctors in Melbourne Who are saving cancer patients who are told they only have very limited time to live.

I need to see Dr Wong who is a neurologist doing radical spinal surgery on cancer patients and saving their lives. 2 Vertebrae in my lumbar spine fractured from the growing tumours leaving me permanently and totally incapacitated, now I can’t work.

I also need to see Dr Teo in Melbourne who is also saving cancer patients with metastasized cancer with limited life time left. I need to see these doctors ASAP as I have just been told my liver will shut down very soon unless the chemo works, 48% chance it will work. If it doesn’t work I may only have 4-6 weeks left, if it does work I may get 3-6 months. With these radical procedures I may get years added to my life .

I never ask for hand outs and have worked for everything I needed or that my kids need, being a single dad with with my kids living with me I have always provided for them, until now I find myself not able to do this anymore.

Please help save my son and save my life so I can be there for him when he needs me.
