Help Colleen Beat Breast Cancer

Shortly before Thanksgiving, our dear friend, Colleen Martinek, was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. Unfortunately, Colleen’s cancer is grade 3, which means it is extremely aggressive and requires immediate invasive treatment.

She and her husband, John, plan on someday having a larger family. They were directed to see a fertility doctor in order to have her eggs harvested before beginning a grueling 16 weeks of chemotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy.

The treatment also requires multiple procedures to ensure the cancer has not spread to any other areas.

A testament to her immense strength, Colleen is still working, being a mom to beautiful nine-month-old Henry, taking time for all things family-related, going through IVF and a litany of other necessary, exhausting procedures; not to mention being diagnosed with MS two years ago.

All of this, and she is only 35 years old.

Fighting several health battles at once could make anybody lose hope, yet Colleen soldiers on, always surprising her friends with her positive, happy outlook.

However, the bills are adding up, and Colleen is noticeably nervous about her financial situation. With the new year starting in a few short weeks, time is running out on what her insurance will cover for 2019. We want to make sure she never has to worry.

So, we are asking to give her some support. Whatever you can donate—no matter how small—will help ease medical bills, childcare for Henry, recovery from chemo and surgery, and a litany of other unforeseen expenses which will no doubt occur.
