Help Chris Make a Fresh Start

Donation protected
On the night of December 12th, 2018 Chris Terry's house caught on fire after one of his space heaters malfunctioned. There was major damage to the house, and Chris lost nearly all of his possessions inside. Without renters insurance, he has no way to recover from those losses.

"I will just say after going through this ordeal and almost dying in the house after inhaling the black smoke that almost knocked me out and burned my eyes so bad that I couldn't see to get out of the house, I felt my way out and me knowing the house very well something just said 'Chris stay to the left all the way until you reach the back door' and I did. That was God telling me that and to put it in perspective I never looked at a firefighter like that until I went through what I went through and I have the utmost respect for firefighters. Not that I never did but I definitely respect them more than I ever had and that's real talk. I almost died that night, December 12th, 8:30pm."

After losing his house, Chris stayed with friends and family and continued working as a contracted employee for a temp agency, Crosby Corporation, in hopes of saving enough money to get another place.

At around 11:15pm on December 20th, Chris' supervisor at his current job site got a text from a representative from Crosby, saying Crosby was shutting down, effective December 21st, 2018. Chris arrived at work that Friday and was told to go home. After leaving his job site he went immediately to Crosby's headquarters in Laurel, MD. He found the office locked up, with a sign on the front door with a phone number to call(that went straight to voicemail), and 6-8 other pissed off Crosby employees looking for answers and their paycheck. Chris and others have still not received their last paycheck from Crosby as of the time of this posting.

On December 22nd, Chris turned 51. Despite losing his house, most of his possessions, his job, and 2 weeks pay leading up to his birthday and the holiday season, he has managed to keep his head up. His faith in God and his optimism keep him going through this hard time.

Please help Chris start fresh in 2019! Your donation will help him with a down payment/rent on a new place, and to replace some of the things lost in the fire. Maybe even some Cowboys gear to keep his spirits up.

Note: this page has been created with Chris Terry's knowledge and permission. Unfortunately, considering his current circumstances, he does not have the forms of ID required to directly withdraw funds from GoFundMe. I will be withdrawing on his behalf, and will provide any documentation or photographic evidence requested by folks to prove that he received all of the funds collected.
