Hi all!

I'm here today to fundraise and hopefully help get Chipala Primary School in Lilongwe, Malawi as close as we can to getting a new indoor classroom.

Many of you may not be familiar with this school or familiar with Malawi, but this place completely changed my life.

Chipala Primary School is located in Lilongwe, Malawi, the second poorest country in the world. Chipala currently teaches over 9,111 students. With only 77 teachers - a ratio of 118 children to 1 teacher - the teachers are spread very thin. Some of the classrooms I viewed had over 250 students per class with some of the most well-behaved children I've ever seen.

There are only 39 classrooms on campus - 17 of which are outside. Due to overcrowding, these outdoor classes take place outside on dirt terrain in the hot sun and often not shaded. Many of these outdoor classrooms do not have chalkboards and the teachers are forced to use mobile chalkboards which can easily break apart in the dry season.

Regardless of these conditions, the students and faculty of this school are without a doubt some of the most kind, appreciative and humble individuals I've been lucky enough to be able to encounter. Many children travel many kilometers to attend the school and are incredibly appreciative of the education they're receiving. Due to assistance from USAID, over 9.6 million textbooks have been distributed to every Malawian student in Grades 1-4. These often include English textbooks which students bring home and often help their parents and siblings learn how to read.

With so little, this school has done so much to educate their students and I hope to in some small way, with all of your help, help build them another indoor classroom.

Indoor classrooms can range between $15k-30k, but if we can get to $5k, we could put a substantial dent in the funds needed to build another classroom. This money can also go towards some more mobile chalkboards that can better withstand the outdoor conditions.

Thank you in advance for your kind donation and consideration of this cause. Every. Single. Penny. HELPS - $5 is not too small! help bring Chipala some of the help they desperately deserve.

Hi all -

I wanted to give you a final update as all of the funds have finally been transferred over to Chipala - we were able to raise a grand total of $7,008 for the school! They tell me they are going to be constructing a learning shelter with the funds and create a training program on letter sounds and assessment methods.

I've attached one of the photos that they sent over to me that I would like to send to you all. I also want to pass along a Bible verse that the headteacher sent to me that she says is now dedicated to all of you:

"Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done." - Proverbs 19:17

Please fill out the following link and I will send hard copies of these photos and a thank you note for your generosity.

Hi everyone - wanted to give a final update. Between this GoFundMe and donations given to me in person, we were able to raise $6,653. I am so excited to be sending this over to the school and can't express how grateful I am to each and every one of you. Your generosity will truly change these children's lives. Thank you again and I will send out pictures of their updates when I have them!

All - THANK YOU so much for the donations you all have given.

I wanted to give a quick update - the rainy season is set to hit Malawi very soon, meaning a lot of the kids will no longer go to school for a few weeks. This greatly raises the chances that they will have to repeat a grade or possible drop out of school entirely.

The school is really in need of temporary shelters to incentivize and make sure the kids keep showing up.

if you have already donated - THANK YOU. If you are able to share the post on your social media pages to get some more donations, I'm hoping to get to an ultimate goal of $10,000 to get them all the shelter they need.

Thanks again.
