Help Carlos Get Free from Detention

About The Carlos Project:

Carlos has lived in the United States since he was a small child. Like so many other immigrants who came here at an early age, he studied and developed many ambitions for his life. Then, once he became an adult, he faced the devastation of realizing many opportunities for further education and work were out of reach because of his immigration status. Consequently, he began to experience serious health and other life problems.

Carlos been detained at the GEO/ICE detention center in Aurora, Colorado for about three months and has been receiving pro se (self-help) legal assistance and emotional support from RMIAN. He was recently granted a bond of $7,500 by the immigration judge and has a friend who is able to pay $1,000 of the bond.

Carlos and his supporters are asking for the community's help in paying the remaining $6,500 of his bond. Carlos has very serious health needs. He very much needs to get out of detention so he can access treatment, be near the support of his family and friends, and have more time to gather evidence for his asylum case, as he fears persecution and torture in his home country if he is deported.

Please lend Carlos the hope of better health and a safer life by contributing to his bond. It would be ideal if he can bond out in early November, before having to proceed with his final immigration court hearing in detention.

Thank you for your kind assistance!
