Help Caitlin survive deportation!
Donation protected
My friend Caitlin is a graduate student at a well-known public university in the United States. She came here on a student visa from the United Kingdom, and has proven herself a talented and worthy student.
Then, the night before her thesis defense, Caitlin learned that the department is blocking her from graduation on a technicality. She had a job lined up and a lovely partner here in the US, and now instead she faces deportation THIS TUESDAY (July 31ST). Everything she worked toward could be ruined now, and she could be separated from her new home, friends, and partner in only a matter of hours.
Caitlin has very little money, and no means of establishing credit in the UK at this time. She won't have a home or a job to return to. She doesn't even have a way to ship most of her belongings back overseas. All the resources she has right now will have to be spent purchasing a last-minute plane ticket.
We are currently appealing the department's decision and trying to extend her visa. Your donation will help in this process. And, if we should fail, your donation will also help her get back on her feet in Britain and find a path forward.
Please—if you have money to spare—help Caitlin overcome this injustice. Thank you.
