Help bring Rick home!

Donation protected
As many already know, Rick Davies is literally in the fight of his life! He has been diagnosed with Melanoma and no primary source can be found. On March 15th, he underwent surgery to have 3 tumours removed from his brain. The surgery has left him with very little use of the right side of his body. There is a strong possibility that he will never walk, or use his right arm again. He has been able to regain some of his speech abilities. Last week, he and Marian (who has been in Victoria with him) went to Vancouver, via ambulance, for a PET Scan. The result of which has shown that the Melanoma has metastasized throughout more of his brain, his lungs, ribs and legs. Through all of this, he has maintained a positive attitude and determination to beat it (although his doctors have said otherwise). Rick believes in the power of the Lord to guide him through this. At this time he is still in Victoria hospital where he will receive radiation treatment next week, possibly being followed up with Chemo. After the treatments are completed, he will likely be transferred back to Port Alberni, where he would like nothing more than to go home and be with Marian, the love of his life for the past 20yrs, family and fur babies. Rick is a very caring and compassionate man, who is always first in line to help others when he can, but doesn't like to ask for anything in return. He is very humble and thankful for everything he has, but especially his family, who means the world to him. It is at this time that we, his family, are turning to others for help in bringing Rick home. In order for him to come home, there will need to be modifications made to the house, such as a deck and ramp put in, a fence so he can sit outside watching his fur babies play in the front yard as he will no longer be able to access the back yard with them, and a shower renovation to make it wheelchair accessible. There will likely be other costs as well for bringing him home, such as the rental costs of a lift, wheelchair, and hospital bed. While Rick and Marian are thankful for everything they have, they do not have the ability to absorb the financial costs associated with these modifications at this time. Any small donation will help bring Rick home to the peace of his house, rather than the noise of the hospital. Even if you can't donate, please share this and pray for Rick to have the strength to beat this!

Thank you from the loving family of Rick Davies!
