Help Brave Bruno!

Donation protected
Bruno was saved recently on March 5th 2017. One of our PAWS volunteers spotted him late at night dragging himself into a Starbucks drive through. When I arrived to help get him into a carrier he was slumped behind a bush in the drive through. He could not use his back legs at all and he could barley hold himself up and use his front ones most likely because he had already used them so much to drag himself so far. The poor boy was so tired and had obviously been through a lot! We were able to get him in the carrier and let him rest for the night. Kris Neal from One More Chance Rescue has a lot of experience rescuing injured cats and was able to get him into the clinic at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary almost right away! Dr. Patty at Best Friends determined that one of his back legs had a broken ankle and the other back leg had a broken haunch. At first we were looking at amputating the leg with the broken haunch because it would be easier and more cost effective. Most cats that loose a leg bounce back quickly and carry on like normal. Unfortunately after a couple days of treating and observing Bruno Dr. Patty determined that the leg with the broken ankle had too much damage and would never be strong enough to be the only back leg. It had already been almost 10 days since we found him and who knows how long he was injured before That. The only option left for Bruno was to have surgery done on the haunch which would allow him to keep both back legs. Dr. Patty is awesome and was able to get him in with a specialist in Las Vegas that does that kind of surgery. We had no other choice so off Bruno went from Best Friends in Kanab to Las Vegas! No owners were ever found for Bruno and we are sure he doesn't have any because he has been reported as a stray in that area quite a few times. That's ok though because Bruno drug himself into the right drive through at the right time and now he has three different rescues working together to help him! Sometimes it takes a village and Bruno is definitely going to need a village because the surgery that will save his leg and allow him to live a quality life is $2,500. I made this go fund me me to pay for Bruno's surgery. When I drove Bruno two hours away to Best Friends he laid in his carrier next to me and looked up at me the whole way there. He never meowed or hissed or acted the least bit upset about the long car ride in the carrier. It was like he knew he was going to get help for the horrible injury he had been living with. He was thankful! He deserved to get better and live a good life just as much as any other cat! During that car ride I promised him that I would do whatever it takes to help him get better. Right now that means raising funds for his surgery. Any amount that you can donate will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to pay for his surgery. Bruno has been so brave through all of this! All of the pain, being poked and prodded, going in and out of carriers and on long car rides. He has been through a lot but he's staying tough so that he can get better again and find a forever home one day so let's work together and get him the help he deserves!
