Help Bless Melissa and Raul Garcia

For Melissa and Raul Garcia, the downward journey started in August 2017. Raul became disabled after years of giving 110% toward his job. Long hours and heavy lifting took a toll which resulted in several surgeries and more to come! While trying to adjust to this very different lifestyle concerning his work ethic, complications occurred. Raul was then diagnosed with diabetes which only complicated his recovery. They kept their faith knowing God was in control.

Then Hurricane Harvey decided to pay a visit soon after which resulted in heavy water damage to their home, making vacating inevitable. Repairing their home has been slow and incomplete due to Raul’s disability and now limited income.  Still, God was in control.

In the meantime, Melissa’s beautiful mom became fragile which required much care and many doctor appointments. A decision to perform a much needed and usually routine surgery resulted in her unexpected death. The family was deeply traumatized and in hopes the worst would be behind them. Only one day after the funeral, luck was not to be had. Melissa was taking care of some business at her mother’s house when she stepped wrong and snapped her ankle in half. Compound fracture required emergency surgery and now a long road to recovery! With both Melissa and Raul now disabled they will need all the blessings they can get. With God’s guidance, we can all help them through this difficult time.

For all who have been blessed with Melissa and Raul’s friendship know they are angels sent from heaven. When the shoe is on the other foot they are always willing to go that extra mile. They lead by example and make us all want to be better people. They are some of the most deserving people I know.
