Help Biotech Partners Make A Match

Tax deductible

Biotech Partners has received a challenge grant of $15,000 from the Miranda Lux Foundation! Every contribution from now through November 16th will be matched dollar for dollar.  No donation is too small and timing is critical to reach our goal.

Currently, Biotech Partners serves 324 students, with 88 rising juniors anticipating to earn a paid Summer Internship. We have tripled the number of students served due to our expansion efforts since 2015.  With twice as many school sites across the Greater Bay Area plus 3 times as many summer internships and year-round co-op positions, Biotech Partners needs your support now more than ever.  All funds raised will help us to provide much needed academic and socio-emotional support services for our aspiring scientists across the Greater San Francisco Bay Area.

About Biotech Partners

Established in 1993, Biotech Partners, a 501(c)3 organization, provides under-served youth with personal, academic, and professional development experiences that increase participation in higher education and access to fulfilling science careers.

Biotech Partners’ comprehensive  4-year, 2-part program of high school and community college components consists of:
- a specialized science and technology curriculum starting 11th grade
   through 12th grade
- paid summer internships for high school students
- professional development workshops and paid year-long co-op
   positions for community college  students
- support services to help each student achieve success

Our consistently updated hands-on curriculum developed through collaboration with industry partners and academia meets the approved A-G Requirements.  Biotech Partners focuses on mastery of laboratory techniques and skills, so that students graduate the program with the knowledge and experience necessary for entry-level positions in the Biotechnology field.

We work within the classroom; therefore, classroom sizes are kept to a maximum of 25 students so that all students are able to be actively involved in lab work and perform laboratory techniques. These small class sizes also allow Biotech Partners staff to ensure each student receives individualized attention and wraparound support services—such as tutoring, personal and career coaching, clothing and transportation stipends.

Over the past 24 years, Biotech Partners has educated more than 3,000 students and placed nearly 1,400 youth in hands-on internship and co-op positions, collectively resulting in over $3.3Million in student earnings.
