Help Bill Fund His Recovery

Donation protected
On Friday March 31, Bill Weisner suffered an aneurysm at a Virginia transit station, fell and hit his head, fracturing his skull. He has been in the hospital in Falls Church, VA since this happened, unable to breathe on his own yet showing signs of recovery. There have been definite signs of improvement noted by family and friends who have been able to visit, but Bill has a long road ahead to heal and recover his life.

Bill’s family and friends are determined he get the best care possible on the road to recovery.  Bill's friends have helped create this fundraiser to provide his family for the many expenses beyond insurance coverage that will enhance Bill’s healing. The immediate goal is to progressively get Bill, first, to a point where it will be safe to move him to a suitable nursing and rehabilitation facility located in north central Florida, close to his home and family, as well as many of his friends. With hope and grace, we hope that can be accomplished within 6 months. Until then, visits by his Mom and Dad from Florida to Virginia will be a strong element of support in Bill’s care.

The long-term goal is to progressively get Bill to a point where he will be able to return to the work he loves and - God willing - live a long and useful life. The funding goal is focused directly on supporting his recovery over the next year.

Bill is in need of a lot of support and love to aid his recovery. Those who are able to visit in person, talk to him or be with him, are encouraged. And anyone that may be able to aid in this complex process (e.g., legal aid, therapy, or otherwise), please just ask and offer.

The money that you contribute for Bill’s recovery will go towards the following types of support:
-Monthly Florida to Virginia family member visit expenses
  - Legal & Accounting Services
  - Out-of-pocket medical expenses
  - Out-of-pocket expenses for transition to nursing care facility
  - Storage of personal belongings
  - Medical and Rehabilitation Specialists
  + Related unanticipated costs

Wherever in the world you first met him, whether you photographed, danced, explored or volunteered your services at the same time for a good cause - if you know Bill, you know that you’re lucky to have crossed paths with this amazingly selfless guy. Bill always listens and finds ways to share laughter. Beyond the music, toys, and fun, he impacts so many lives in a positive way with his friendship.

Please support Bill as generously as you can, and share your memories and messages of hope.

A message from Bill’s dad, Larry Weisner:
“Bill is strong, courageous and focused. He will fight with all his heart, and with the grace of God, and the love of friends like you, he will come out of this and be stronger. Bill has no sisters or brothers. You have been and are his sisters and brothers. For that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
